Great question. In short, I wouldn't recommend it. The main problem with Andersen Self bailers is they leak when not in use. This means that on nice pleasant days when the sea is ...
Hello, ist it a good idea to install an Andersen Type Bailer on an Angus Expedition Rowboat.
I just measured it, and it is just a smidge under 11 3/4" between the rails. The end caps protrude slightly further out, so you'll be able trim a tiny bit off by sanding off some extraneous p...
Hopefully the thicker wire makes a difference. Remember, for cinching to pull out as hard as you can with the pliers and then twist. You'll get more than twice the cinching power of twi...
I will give it a try. I've ordered thicker wire as the 18 gauge started to snap. as of toher things could you please check for possible mismatch between cnc dxf file and the manual in current ...
Hello Piotr. It's been quite a few years since I last built the Oxford Wherry, so I don't recall how much of a gap is formed between the panels in the stern. The reason for the gap is the com...
Hi, as I'm based in Poland I've decided to build oxford wherry with digital plans. Hull panels have been cut at CNC mill according to the attached DXF file and bulkheads with jigsaw based on t...
Hello Keith. I think you should be okay at 11 9/16", but I can't say for sure right now. I'm just at my off grid cabin, so don't have the opportunity to check at the moment, but I will ...
How hard is the 11 3/4" gap between floatation chambers for the rowcruiser? I'm currently at 11 9/16. Expecting the rowing seat and rigger kit to come next week. Thanks, Keith

This is great!! How many hours would you say you put into building?
That looks fantastic! Not only will it make them stronger, but it gives the boat an exotic racing look. Did you laminate it the same way the glass on the hull is done? And then do...
I had the same issue and just put in lots of extra wires and really cranked them down. The finished product looks perfect, after filling with faring compound and epoxy.
I thought the hatch covers needed a bit more strength so tried carbon fiber skinning for the first time. Happy with the results.
Awesome— thanks so much, Colin, I appreciate the reassurance! I spend far too long at the computer these days, so my poor thumbs are a bit soft— I found the 16 can be a bit hard to wor...
Hello Kate, Worry not, that gap is normal, and it does takes a bit of force to bring it together. The best way to bring it together is to drill a few additional holes near the front, and rea...
I'm trying to do the initial wiring together of Bow 1 & 2, ("When you get about 10 ties back from the bow, go back and check the corners of panels 1 and 2 are still aligned"), but the panels re...
