Need help ID'ing something

  • Hi all.   My (purchased) RowCruiser has rubber plugs on the cabin side of the bulkhead between the cabin and cockpit.  My best guess is they're some sort of vent for the flotation chambers, but is this a standard part of the build and can anyone tell what they are?  I'm including pics below.

Unfortunately my boat sustained some wood damage to the joint where the cockpit sole meets the vertical surfaces of the thwarts/flotation chambers when someone at the place I store it moved my boat without me knowing, dropped it resulting in a crack through the hull along the cockpit sole and then left it not properly covered and the cockpit filled with water.  I'm trying to assess how much repair is needed and need to access the inside of the flotation spaces to see if water got in there as well.  Also including photos of the cockpit sole.  I'm thinking the best way to do so is through the bulkead in the cabin, pretty much exactly where the plugs are.  Decided it might be prudent to find out what they were and why they're there before cutting.  Any input on any of the above is really appreciated.  Thanks.
