Sailing Rowcruiser materials list. Plywood quantity


  • I am working on a cost estimate to build the Sailing Rowcruiser before buying the plans. I can't seem to find a materials list published on the website. For starters, how many sheets of plywood are required for the build, including amas for the sail rig?



  • Please find the materials list for the RowCruiser below.  For the amas, one additional piece of 4mm sheet of plywood is required too.

     6 sheets of Okoume 4 mm plywood (manufactured to BS 1088 standards)
     2 sheets Okoume 6 mm plywood (BS 1088)
     6 gallons epoxy resin and hardener (combined volume)
     Disposable measuring/mix containers or dispensing epoxy pumps and mixing containers (old yogurt containers work well)
     4 oz bronze ring nails
     2 knot-free spruce construction 2x4’s 10 feet long
     4 knot-free spruce 2x4’s 8 feet long
     1 knot-free spruce 2x4’ 10 feet long

     220’ of 18 gauge copper wire
     Two pounds wood flour
     20 yards of 50”-wide glass cloth (6 oz density)
     60 feet of 3” fiberglass tape
     3 syringes
     Disposable gloves
     5” round hatches (inspection ports) and attachment hardware
     15 5” foam rollers
     2 roller trays
     2 roller handles
     10 disposable 2” brushes
     10 2” spatulas
     40 tongue depressors
     40 coffee stir sticks
     4 10” spatulas (plastic drywall applicator)
     10 heavy duty Ziploc bags
     25’ neoprene weather stripping
     45’ ¾” nylon webbing
     9 quick release buckles
     6 2” #8 stainless steel flat head screws
     18 ¾ inch #6 flat head stainless screws
     18 # 6 stainless washers

  • I just got the plans and they list 2sheets of 4 mm and 6 sheets of 6 mm both in the manual and on the pdf plans. I am assuming gust a missprint on the post.
