oxford wherry bow fillet

  hi,

  I was reviewing my work to date against the instructions and available pictures and wanted to confirm how thick/wide/deep the vertical fillet inside the bow should be?  the plans i got did not include any radius call outs for fillet tools, so I used pictures and other boats I'd seen as a guide and all is nice and sturdy.  But then i saw a picture of a finished bow trim with what looks like a huge triangle of epoxy at the tip, and so I wondered if that was just a variation or whether I need to pack more epoxy in there.  the fillet I did is a shy inch deep.

  @constance radke It sounds like your bow fillet will be just fine.  From a structural standpoint, the bow fillet doesn't need to have much more epoxy than the frame/bulkhead fillets.  We do normally recommend using a one inch wide filleting tool to squeeze it in with, but this extra epoxy is more about being able to withstand collisions.  For normal use (assuming no collisions) it's really a little more than required.
