Oxford Wherry Kit

We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Chesapeake Light Craft, who are now manufacturing and shipping our kits. Kits can be purchased either as CNC-cut plywood parts only, or as full kits including epoxy, fiberglass, and other required materials.

Ordering kits is now a simple two-step process. The first step is ordering the digital plans and manual (including DXF cut files) from us, and the second step is ordering the kit directly from CLC.

Alternatively, paper plans can be ordered instead of digital plans. While these are not required for a kit build, they do provide the option of building the boat entirely from scratch.

Digital or paper plans must be purchased first, and CLC will confirm with us that plans have been purchased prior to cutting the kit. Digital plans can be ordered from this page.

Costs are as follows:

Digital Plans:                              $179

Wood Parts-Only Kit:                  $560  (plus $179 digital plans)

Complete Kit:                                $1355 (plus $179 digital plans)

Shipping:                                   CLC will calculate shipping to your location, and provide rates

Kit Contents

The Oxford Wherry Kit includes the plywood parts, mahogany trim, fibrerglass, epoxy resin, and most other components necessary for building the boat.  

The only additional items required are a few basic hand tools, sandpaper and paint/varnish. 

The kit does not include the rowing system.  If you choose to use a sliding system, you will need to purchase that separately.  If planning fixed seat rowing, a central seat/thwart and oarlock supports will need to be constructed.
