Sliding seat question

  • My RowCruiser has the sliding seat set up, but I have kinda big calves and unless I hold my legs tightly together they rub against the rails while rowing, which gets a bit uncomfortable over time.  The seat width seems pretty set though at 11".  Is there a way to modify the seat base to widen this some, or another brand with a slightly wider base someone could recommend?  Thanks

  • Hello Eric,

    I dont have an answer to your exact question, but a couple of suggestions;

    1 - Consider fixing your feet to a higher point. Simply adjusting the foot stretcher to keep your heels high is a simple experiment. If successful, then rr-fix the stretchers to the boat at the higher point.

    2 - Consider a thick seat cover. Again a simple experiment with a folded-up towel will give early feedback before committing.

    Hope this helps.

    Happy Rowing,

    Tony

  • Thanks Tony, I appreciate the reply.  Good ideas, I'll play with them and see what happens.  Raising the foot stretcher sound like a good idea.

  • I have rotated the rail 180 degree, so the lip of the rail do show to the outside.
