Lengthening Rowcruiser

  • I am planning out my rowcruiser build and am considering lengthening the boat by 2 feet. My plan is to lengthen it right at the joint between the cockpit and the cabin. I'd add one foot to the cabin and one foot to the cockpit. This would mean lengthening the middle panels of the hull in the dxf as well as the deck over the cabin. I am planning on simply extending the dimensions at the match lines at this point...so there would be two feet where the dimensions of the boat stay consistent. I'm fairly certain this would work but I made a 1/8th scale model out of poster board and the keel ended up having a bit of a hook at the stern. Not sure if this was just my poor modeling job or if by lengthening the boat in this way it impacts the lines forward or aft. Any thoughts?
