For those that have built a sliding seat for the Oxford Wherry like I have, has anybody tried to use it in the Cambridge Racer? I mistakenly believed it was a simple drop in to the Cambridge Racer. I have not found any entries/literature on this possibility and wonder if I just need to wing it to build supports for the sliding seat/frame/mechanism or go out and buy an Piantedosi or CLC sliding seat
For first Racer I fabricated a custom sliding seat by reusing old parts from dead shells but the rigger and most of the parts were destroyed in a tree fall. I did make the sliding seat with adjustable foot pads like on my LRM Cambridge.
Today I glued in the skeg and will be glassing the hull this week depending on weather and hopefully completing the deck etc next week. With paint the following week.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Oh in case you are wondering I sold the Wherry and some extras for $500, less the seat and oars. The buyer got a good deal
I would show pictures but don't know how to attach them
