Buttons for Wooden Oars

  • I've just built your wooden oars from plans, and I now need collars/buttons so they don't slide through the oarlocks.  In your oar manual, it says that buttons can be purchased on your online store, but I don't see them there.  Are you still selling the buttons, or can you suggest any alternative ones from other retailers?

  • Hey Ray - Yes, unfortunately, we're not currently selling them due to supply issues.  The good news is you can get the correct ones at Latanzo Rowing Parts.  They are the only retailer (that I know of) that sells the correct ones for traditional wooden sculls.  The ones made for composite oars (more widely available) are not the right shape.

  • nice

  • Interesting to read about those rowing parts — it’s always a challenge finding authentic components that fit traditional builds. I’ve had a similar hunt for reliable platforms in other hobbies too. That’s actually how I came across bets24; I was looking for something straightforward and ended up appreciating its clean layout and quick setup. It’s nice when something just works without extra effort.
