"Amerow" style custom built wilderness rowing boat

  • Hi all, I am selling my custom built boat inspired by Jill Fredston's "Amerow" model.

I had this boat converted to a sliding seat rowing boat from a double kayak by a professional boatbuilder in Port Townsend (I can connect serious buyers with the builder to answer technical questions). Hull is fiberglass and kevlar, and cockpit/coaming is carbon fiber. It has a Piantedosi drop-in Row Wing rig and Piantedosi oars. It's extremely stable and easy to row. It was built with ocean travel in mind, but I have taken it on ocean, lake, and river trips. It has a few typical scrapes on the bottom from beach landings and a small dent in the carbon coaming which is purely cosmetic (but fixable if you are so inclined), generally in excellent shape and ready to row immediately.

I had it built for longer trips and it can carry 90 days of supplies for a seasoned packer. Has two large hatches in the cockpit for on-water access as well as many access hatches for the smaller storage areas to each side of the cockpit.

I have it listed for $7,500 but I am motivated to sell and will entertain reasonable offers. Will include the Trail-Ex trailer shown in pics. Trailer has a blown bearing and needs a new axle to be roadworthy (the axle is a few hundred bucks from the manufacturer and is easy to replace) but is otherwise in good condition.

Boat is located in Bellingham, WA.
